As we are missing a lesson for Student Progress day, please complete the following task before our next lesson.
Go back to Act 1 Scene 2, which we read in class last week. Prepare an analysis of the following sections, showing what they reveal about the characters and attitudes of Othello and Brabantio:
Othello’s speech lines 17 – 28
Brabantio’s speech lines 62 – 81
Now re-read Othello’s speech in Act 1 Scene 3, lines 77 – 95. What rehetorical devices can you find in his speech? How does he present himself to the Duke and Senators?
Answers should be in the form of full paragraphs in your exercise book.
Due next lesson (Monday 29th September)
